Sutra
प्रथमो योजनसहस्रायामस्तदर्धविष्कम्भो हृदः ।। १५ ।।
Meaning
पहला सरोवर एक हजार (१०००) योजन लंबा और पाँच सौ (५००) योजन चौड़ा है।

भावार्थ

दो हजार कोस का एक महायोजन होता है।

English Meaning:

The first lake is one thousand yojana in length and half of it in breadth. The length, from east to west, of lake Padma is one thousand yojana. Its breadth, from north to south, is five hundred yojana. The bottom of the lake is made of adamant. Its banks are variegated, studded with gold and jewels. Its depth is indicated in the next sutra. Answer पद्म सरोवर एक हजार योजन लम्बा पाँच सौ योजन चौड़ा और दस योजन गहरा है तथा उसमें एक योजन का कमल होता है।

Answer इन सरोवरों का तल वज्रमय और तट मणिजड़ित है। इनके चारों ओर वन -खण्ड हैं । निर्मल स्फटिक की तरह स्वच्छ, गंभीर और अक्षय जल वाला विविध जलपुष्पों से चारों ओर शरद्काल में चंद्रमा और ताराओं की पंक्तियों से चमचमायमान सरोवर ऐसा मालूम होता है मानों आकाश नीचे उतर आया हो ।
