Sutra
तद्विगुणद्विगुणा हृदाः पुष्कराणि च।।१८।।
Meaning
 आगे के तालाब और कमल दूने-दूने हैं ||१८||

भावार्थ

प्रथम पर्वत पर स्थित सरोवर एवं कमल के विस्तार से आगे के पर्वतों पर स्थित सरोवरोंएवं कमलों का विस्तार दुगुना – दुगुना है। Reference:Tatwarth-Manjusha-Khand-1-तत्वार्थ-मंजूषा-खंड-१-Aryika-Shri-Vigyanmati-Mataji

English Meaning:

Repetition in ‘taddviguṇadviguṇāḥ’ is intended to convey that these are, each, double the previous one. Double in regard to what? It means double in regard to length, breadth and depth, Mahāpadma is double the length, breadth and depth of Padma. Tigincha’s length, breadth and depth is double that of Mahāpadma. The same applies to lotuses also; each lotus is double, in length, etc., of the previous one.It is like this: lotus Padma is one yojana long and one yojana broad, lotus Mahāpadma two yojana, lotus Tigincha four yojana, lotus Kesari four yojana, lotus Mahāpundarika two yojana, and lotus Pundarika one yojana. Questions and Answers: शङ्का -समाधान

Answer यद्यपि सूत्र में दिये गये ‘तत्’ शब्द से पद्म सरोवर का ही ग्रहण होता है, फिर भी व्याख्यान से विशेष अर्थ का बोध होता है। आगे “उत्तरा दक्षिणतुल्याः” सूत्र से भी इसी अर्थ का समर्थन होता है।

Answer महाहिमवन् पर्वत पर बहुमध्य प्रदेश में महापद्म सरोवर है । वह सरोवर दो हजार (२०००) योजन लंबा, एक हजार (१०००) योजन चौड़ा और बीस योजन गहरा है। उसके मध्य में जलतल भाग से दो कोस पर्यन्त ऊँचा और एक योजन मोटे पत्तों के समूह वाला महापद्म नामका कमल है । यह कमल दो कोस लंबे पत्तों से युक्त और एक योजन लंबी कर्णिका से शोभित दो योजन विस्तार वाला है। इस कमल के परिवार कमलों की संख्या पूर्वोक्त कमल प्रमाण एक सौ आठ (१०८) है और विशेष कमल पूर्वोक्त कमल के समान एक लाख चालीस हजार एक सौ पन्द्रह (१,४०,११५) हैं।
